Dr. D. Sumith Doluweera

Department of Physics & Astronomy

Georgia State University

Welcome to my Home page!

I am a computational physicist. I enjoy teaching physics. I received my Ph.D. in computational condensed matter physics from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Cincinnati. I serve as a Principal Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and as Assciate Undergraduate Director & Advisor for Physics Lower Division Courses, and the faculty advisor for the Society of Phyics Students (SPS) at GSU.

My Research Interests

My current research interests involve physics educational research & innovative instructions in introductory physics, applications of information theoretical techniques & data analysis, and theoretical condensed matter physics. I am fascinated by the complex phenomena that emerge in strongly correlated electron systems, such as high-temperature superconductivity and studied the effect of inhomogeneities in high-temperature superconductivity using Dynamical Cluster Approximation(DCA).
